On Earth, Irish warriors led by King Brian Boru defeat invading Vikings at the Battle of Clontarf. Brian Boru is killed by the Vikings during the battle.[2][3]

While attempting to escape the gravity well of Kroy's planet in 2268, the Federation starship USS Enterprise entered a time warp, crashing on the surface in 1098 and killing 250 crewmembers.[7]
