In India in March of this year, Jawaharlal Nehru, one of the top aides of Mahatma Gandhi, was sentenced to six months in prison for violating the British Empire's Salt Law. Having read of his conviction in The Star Dispatch, Edith Keeler regarded it as unjust.^[1]

Dr. Leonard McCoy saved Edith Keeler from death, setting in motion a series of events that leads to a Nazi victory in World War II. In this timeline, McCoy remained a resident of 20th century Earth until his death in 1955.^[4]
