- January: Initial talks for the formation of the Coalition of Planets take place on Earth; Human terrorist organization Terra Prime attempts to expell all aliens from the Sol system.[1][2]
- Sunday, February 23: Coridan III is devastated by a Romulan attack which leaves half its population of three billion dead, half of its dilithium reserves destroyed and its ecological system in shambles that will take at least a century to recover.[3]
- Monday, March 3: Coridan III withdraws from the Coalition of Planets in fear of further Romulan attacks.[3]
- Still undiscovered by Earth, Vanguard colony encounters a spatial anomaly which casts it even further from home -- to the Small Magellanic Cloud 210,000 light years away.[4]
