The 2270s was, on Earth's calendar, the eighth decade of the 23rd century. Some stardate systems have delineated this era from stardates ranging approximately from shortly before 7000.0 to around 7900.0.[1] Another stardate system simply has this decade fall from stardates 2270 to 2279.[2]

Events taking place with reference stardates in the modern era beginning on stardate 0/00 cannot always logically be corresponded to modern years or canon dates in most cases, so they are listed on offshoots of those pages.
  • Sarek of Vulcan begins working with the Legarans. For the next 93 years he would work with the Legarans until they were ready to sign a treaty with the Federation.[3]
