- A warp engine imbalance aboard USS Pioneer triggers a wormhole, the first time an artificial wormhole has been created by Earth science, stranding the starship in a decaying orbit of a super-Jovian planet. USS Endeavour aids a task force in disabling and boarding an attacking "Mute" starship, but when it sends out a distress signal to fellow vessels, the damaged task force ships are forced to retreat with a few captives.
