40 Eridani A Starfleet Construction Yards, also known as Vulcan Space Central, was a Federation space station, a Sierra class starbase with associated shipyards located in orbit of Vulcan in the 40 Eridani system of the Vulcan sector. The station was in Starfleet and Vulcan Space Central service in the 24th and 25th centuries. (TNG episodes: "Night Terrors", "The Wounded", DS9 episode: "Second Sight", STO - Klingon War mission: "Diplomatic Orders")

Similarly, the USS Phoenix,a Nebula-class vessel was built by the Division on stardate 22519.5, in the year 2363. (TNG episode: "The Wounded")
The Division constructed another Nebula-class starship, the USS Prometheus, at the base. (DS9 episode: "Second Sight")
After the loss of Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in 2385, Lt. Commander Raffi Musiker considered the shipyards at 40 Eridani A and Beta Antares as substitutes in her plan to continue the evacuation of Romulan space. (PIC episode: "The End is the Beginning"; PIC novel: The Last Best Hope)
Since at least 2409, the central complex of the shipyards was a Sierra-type starbase. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Diplomatic Orders")

Background[]
This section is written from the Real World point of view. |
The 40 Eridani yards have never physically appeared in any Star Trek series, but the dedication plaques for the Brattain, Phoenix, and Prometheus, visible in their respective episodes, list them as their yard of origin. They were first mentioned on screen my Raffi Musiker in the opening flashback of Star Trek: Picard's third episode, "The End is the Beginning".
