The 509th Atomic Bomb Group was a sub-division in the armed forces of the United States of America on Earth from 1947 on into the 21st century. This group, based out of Roswell, New Mexico, was responsible for the capture of Quark. Colonel William H. Blanchard (Commanding) and Lieutenant Walter Haut were some of the key figures involved in the capture and interrogation of Quark. (ST reference: Star Trek Cookbook)
