Cheron is a planet that supported a flourishing civilization around 48,000 B.C.E. (TNG novel: The Buried Age) During the Earth/Romulus(Remus) Wars, its orbit was where the last, 22nd Century conflict ended in what became known as the Treaty of Algeron.
