In the mirror universe, AKS Qin was a 25th century Klingon-Cardassian Alliance starship, a tier 5-rated heavy raptor escort in Klingon Defense Force service in the 2400s and 2410s decades. (STO - Under Siege mission: "The Hunt is On")
Service history[]

By the early 25th century, the resurgent Terran Empire had overtaken the KAC as the dominant power in known space. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Jabberwocky")
The AKS Qin was the counterpart of the IKS Qin operated by the Imperial Klingon Defense Force in the primary universe. Both versions of the Qin class were rated as heavy raptors.
Due to the involvement of the Tholian Assembly in the Temporal Cold War, Tholian meddling brought mirror universe ships into Azure Nebula of the primary universe in the year 2409. The mirror Qin heavy raptor was among the vessels acquired by the Lobi Crystal Consortium and made available to the Klingon Empire. At one point, the Qin maneuvered in close proximity with the Imperial Terran Starfleet science vessels ISS Luna and ISS Trident. (STO website: Under Siege: Temporal Lock Box)
The AKS Qin served as the counterpart to the Terran Luna-class ISS Luna and Trident-class Trident as well as the mirror Romulan Republic's Ha'nom-class guardian warbird ARW Ha'nom. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: The Elachi Lock Box)
During the Iconian War in 2410, the allies of the Khitomer Alliance commissioned modernized iterations of their escort classes. The KDF contributed the tier 6-rated Qa'Tel-class flight deck raptor. These flight-deck carriers combined the maneuverability of escorts with a hangar bay typical of carriers. The ships that the new Alliance classes were based on could be deployed with the improved capabilities, including the Qin and Birok. (STO website: The Iconian War: Heavy Escort Carriers)
From 2410 onwards, flag officers of the Khitomer Alliance could deploy the mirror Qin alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
The Qin represented the mirror counterpart of the class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Refractions missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
