A Christmas Carol is a novel by Charles Dickens, first published in 1843. It has been adapted multiple times since then for stage, film, television, and as a holonovel.

In 2371, Jean-Luc Picard was on Qo'noS to discuss the status of the Federation-Klingon alliance with Chancellor Gowron. Picard kept a paper copy of A Christmas Carol on his nightstand. It was most likely planted to give him an opportunity to discuss redemption with Thomas Riker who was posing as Commander William Riker at the time. (TNG novel: Triangle: Imzadi II)

In 2372, Dr. Beverly Crusher staged a production of A Christmas Carol aboard the USS Enterprise-E, with Reginald Barclay playing Scrooge, Will Riker playing Marley, and Data as narrator. (TNG eBook: Slings and Arrows: That Sleep of Death)
