"A Simple Investigation" is an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It is the 115th overall and the 17th episode of the show's fifth season. It first aired during the week of 31 March 1997. The episode was written by René EchevarriaMA and directed by John KretchmerMA.

Odo protects a woman from the Orion Syndicate and finds himself falling in love with her.

Summary[]

An Idanian man is accosted by two Finnean thugs in quarters aboard Deep Space 9. The pair are looking for something, but the Idanian denies knowing what they are talking about. The Idanian tries to pull out a weapon, but is vaporised by Sorm. Odo meeets a woman called Arissa, who the Finneans take an interest in as well.
