Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Summary[]

Log entries[]

Captain's log, stardate 8685.1
Awaiting final instructions from Starfleet Command for a special assignment in the Ukaran sector. It was recently the site of spirited and — so far — peaceful competition between the Federation and the Klingon Empire — both of which have been building colonies in an effort to become the dominant presence in this largely unexplored and unsettled part of the galaxy. We have just rendezvoused with the shuttle Chaffee carrying the two officers temporarily reassigned for this mission — Excelsior Captain Sulu and Chief Engineer Lukas.
Enterprise log, stardate 8685.9
Captain Spock in command. Captain Kirk's team has departed in a vessel bearing Nilaran identification, due to arrive at Zantak Prime in 34.683 hours. Per Starfleet orders, the Enterprise is to maintain current position, to avoid provoking apprehension on the part of the Klingons, or any other colonists in the sector.
Mission log, stardate 8688.3, Kirk recording
We've arrived and entered orbit around Zantak Prime. Survey reports indicate that the planet's location made it one of the first places in the sector to be settled — a bustling port of call and center of commerce — not all of it legal. It is also readily apparent that settled does not mean civilized.
Mission log, supplemental
Kirk recording. While Sulu and I met the Klingons, engineers Scott and Lukas have been exploring the area.
