Lieutenant Commander Aaron Cavit was a human Starfleet officer in the 24th century

In 2358, Cavit served aboard the USS Kingston, a Federation colony-relief transport. During his time aboard the Kingston his commanding officer was killed by the Orions. (VOY novelization: Caretaker)

By 2371, Cavit held the rank of lieutenant commander, and was assigned as executive officer of the USS Voyager under Captain Kathryn Janeway.

That year, during the Voyager's shakedown cruise, system malfunction necessitated the assistance of the USS Hood. The Hood's first officer, Dina Voyskunsky, was a woman with whom Cavit had had a romantic relationship early in his career, before an acrimonious breakup in 2359. The two agreed to a get-together shortly after the end of their cooperative mission.(novel: The Brave and the Bold) Tragically, the Voyager was pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the Nacene Caretaker, and Cavit was killed, before this reunion could take place. (VOY novelization: "Caretaker")
