History and specifications[]
In the late 2400s, the Acamarian frigate was the weakest among the Acamarian combat-ready starships. It was outclassed by the Acamarian cruiser, and the larger Acamarian battleship.
The frigate was armed with a pair of phaser beam arrays, one mounted at the bow and aft each, and a forward-facing photon torpedo launcher. It had the ability to transfer power to engines quickly in an emergency, improving the ship's maneuverability.
In 2409, the Tal Shiar had secretly involved itself with Acamarian affairs and triggered a dispute between clans. In that year, an Acamarian clan leader, escorted by an Allied vessel to a rendezvous site in high orbit above Acamar III, where the Acamarian clan rebel had assembled a squadron of three frigates. The Allies resolved the dispute between the two clans, and a Tal Shiar squadron revealed itself and mounted an attack. With combined forces, the Acamarians and their partners defeated the Romulans.
