Activision is a video game publisher which in 1998 obtained a ten year license to produce Star Trek Games. They went on to make ten games until in 2003 they terminated the license and launched legal action against Viacom (the owners of the Star Trek franchise) claiming the company had allowed the franchise to decay to the point that it was impossible for them to create new games.
