The Ad Aspera was a 23rd century Federation scout ship in service to Starfleet.

Service history and disposition[]

In 2267, Ad Aspera crashed on Phygma IV, apparently with no survivors. Starfleet assigned the starship USS Enterprise to investigate the ship's distress call, and discovered the wreck was being stripped for parts by Klingons using 20-foot-tall mechanitron walking vehicles. Eventually personnel from the Enterprise were able to take possession of the wreckage. (TOS - Waypoint comic: "The Menace of the Mechanitrons")

Appendices[]

Background[]

  • Ad Aspera is part of the Latin phrase ad astra per aspera, which means "to the stars through hardships."
  • The vessel's hull resembled that of the SS Valiant or the aft portion of Joanna, suggesting that it could have been launched in the 21st or 22nd century.
