Commander Adeb ben Abdullah was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century. Ben Abdullah's name was read out of a library computer terminal when Lieutenant Piper asked for a list of Starfleet Command senior staff who were currently or formerly answerable to the authority of Vice Admiral Vaughan Rittenhouse. The large number of correlated names indicated to Piper and Sarda that Rittenhouse was conspiratorially placing his own operatives in positions of power throughout the Federation, in a coup attempt. (TOS novel: "Dreadnought!")
