Summary[]
Naomi Wildman felt miserable when she came to Earth. All of her friends went their separate ways, and to make matters worse, she and her mother would be living on her father's homeworld and would not be returning to space. So she decides to run away from home and find her own way into space. But it takes the combined effort of Will Riker, Kathryn Janeway, and Seven of Nine to get her thoughts straightened out.

Background[]
- A chronological placement of this story within the already established surrounding of other stories in that time frame is somewhat tricky. It clearly takes place during the events of the novel Homecoming. The crew already did home visits, a few weeks have passed since the return of USS Voyager (NCC-74656) to the Alpha Quadrant. Hence, the most logical time frame within Homecoming is between Chapters 8 and 9. However, since Janeway is still ranked as Captain, this slightly contradicts with Seven of Nine correcting herself already in Chapter 6 of Homecoming ("It was only Captain - Admiral Janeway's faith in me...") which is the first time, Janeway's promotion is mentioned within that novel.
