For other uses, see Aeon.

Aeon was a material option, an Alpha Quadrant Alliance designation for the visual appearance of a spacecraft's outer hull, i.e. a vessel's "skin". Aeon was available for 29th century Federation Starfleet starships and shuttlecraft. Unusually for Federation ships, it put the ship into a black cover. Timeship Aeon

Aeon was derived from the hull material used by the USS Aeon, a Federation timeship from the 29th century. (VOY episode: "Future's End")

Through Tholian temporal incursions and Lobi Crystal Consortium business acumen, 29th century timeships were acquired by the AQA. When a commanding officer from the AQA owned timeships of different classes, the Aeon material could be used on other ships of the same faction, like the Wells-class. (STO - Legacy of Romulus mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
