Story[edit | edit source]

Like Agents of Yesterday, Age of Discovery is set in the mid-23rd century. It predates the former by ten years and begins in 2256, soon after the Battle at the Binary Stars that begins the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-2257. The player starts out as Starfleet Academy cadet who teams up with Cadet Sylvia Tilly to counter J'Ula, matriarch of the House of Mo'Kai and sister of T'Kuvma. Thus, the player will be involved in events of the war seen or mentioned in the live-action TV series Star Trek: Discovery. This marks the first time that Star Trek Online delves into the world-building of a current Star Trek series. (STO website: Star Trek Online: Age of Discovery)

Mechanics[edit | edit source]

The teaser video shows a different warp-in mechanic, more aligned with the technique seen in DSC episode: "The Vulcan Hello". It introduces Tier 6 to the Reputation System, and includes new reputations.
