Aidan Burgess was a Human woman who was a Federation ambassador.

In 2298, Ambassador Burgess worked with the crew of the USS Excelsior during an encounter with the Tholians. During the mission, first contact was made with the Neyel, a long lost tribe of Humanity. Burgess decided to remain with the Neyel. (ST novel: The Sundered)

Burgess' example of peaceful coexistence inspired the Neyel Seekers After Penance to try and change their people's attitudes to alien races. (ST novel: The Red King)
