Aidan Thorn was a Human male who served the Federation as a Starfleet officer in the 24th century.

Biography[]

Thorn begun his Starfleet career as a pilot, and on the first day of his assignment on the USS Victory, he was given the conn station.

During Thorn's service on the USS Saratoga, an away team mission led to Thorn, Benjamin Sisko, Graal, Miriam Laffer and Hranok Zar to be infected by corlandium producing organisms and contracted a disease. It threatened Thorn's life until Doctor Laffer found a cure.

He had more than a few postings because of his unique way of doing things. He even served at the dilithium processing center on Butera V, but eventually he ended up on the USS Gorkon as security chief. While on the Gorkon, Thorn was injured by a discharge from a computer console, which left him with memory problems.

In 2372, Lieutenant Thorn was one of the passengers aboard the USS Defiant who were travelling to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards to attend the launch of the new USS Saratoga. After the Defiant was sabotaged and trapped by a wave nexus, Thorn was briefly suspected as he had laid the course. It was later revealed that Thorn's friend Esteban Lopez was responsible. Thorn admitted his memory problems to Hranok Zar, who also told Benjamin Sisko. Both Sisko and Zar agreed to keep their discovery secret, as Thorn would have been forced to give up his Starfleet commission if his condition had been revealed. (DS9 novel: Saratoga)
