An aide - also known as a personal assistant - is an individual who assists another with their personal business or daily business.
Following the Tarsus IV Massacre an aide to Tarsus IV Governor Gisela Ribeiro attempted to assassinate the Governor with a grenade. After he was subdued Starfleet Lieutenant Commander Philippa Georgiou suggested to the governor that she fire that aide. (DSC novel: Drastic Measures)
