Akkalla was an aquarian Federation-member world somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. Its surface was 98.611% covered with water. It was the third of six planets in the Akkallan system, neighboring second planet Chorym.
History and specifics[]
Akkalla was of great scientific significance because of its unusual ecology with a normal variety of flora and fauna despite being almost completely covered by water. It also had a presence of intelligent humanoid life. Land masses consisted of one continent about the size of Australia, replete with mountains and rivers, located along the planet's equator. Underground volcanoes erupting over thousands of years produced numerous small islands. Both poles had ice caps, and the world was mostly cloud-covered.
In the 2270s, the world's government was led by Publican Abben Ffarkior. Its military was led by Brigadier Jjenna Vvox and Vice Brigadier Rrelin Hhayd. (TOS novel: Deep Domain)
