Aleco Vel was a Bajoran man who lived in the 24th century. Aleco served in the Bajoran Militia before transferring to Starfleet. Aleco was assigned to Deep Space 9, eventually becoming the first member of Starfleet to be the Bajoran liaison to the station.
Biography[]
Aleco once held the rank of corporal in the Bajoran Militia and served aboard Deep Space 9. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)
After Bajor joined the United Federation of Planets in September 2376, and the Militia was absorbed into Starfleet, Aleco became a Starfleet officer with the rank of ensign. He remained assigned to Starbase Deep Space 9. (DS9 - Worlds of DS9 novella: The Dominion: Olympus Descending)
By June 2383, Aleco had been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and served as the delta shift duty officer on DS9 and tactical officer aboard the USS Defiant. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Plagues of Night)
