Alexander Siddig is an actor who portrayed the character of Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine during its entire run. He was credited the first three seasons (as well as his guest appearance as Bashir in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Birthright") as Siddig El Fadil, a shortened version of his birth name. Under this name, he also directed the episodes "Business as Usual" and "Profit and Lace". In the non-canon area, Siddig provided the voice for Bashir in the spin-off game The Fallen.
Siddig has appeared in the films Vertical Limit, Reign of Fire, Kingdom of Heaven, Syriana, The Last Legion, Doomsday and The Fifth Estate.
