Information

  • This issue was originally to be written by Rick Remender, however he pulled out so the issue, based on Remender's story, was instead by written by James Patrick.
  • The issue was released in four covers - Two of equally wide availability; one by Zach Howard and the other by Josep Maria Beroy. And another two of more limited availability; a sketch version of Zach Howard's cover and a photo cover.
  • This story is set almost immediately after Spock first joined the crew of the USS Enterprise under Christopher Pike, which places it around 2253.

Related Stories

  • Spock's early missions under Pike - At least two other stories have been set on the Enterprise at the time of, or shortly after, Spock's transfer:
    • Flesh of My Flesh (EV comic) - Depicts Pike recruiting Spock. This story is slightly discontinuous with the Alien Spotlight; In the EV comic Pike recruits Spock at the suggestion of Robert April. In this newer story Pike says he'd met Spock some time back and had been impressed.
    • Vulcan's Glory (TOS novel) - Depicts Spock's first mission under Pike.
