Alpha Chamaeleonis was a class F5III white giant star located in the space claimed by the Romulan Star Empire government in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. The star was located in proximity to Delta Phoenicis, Achernar, Pi Mensae, Iota Carinae and Algorab. Alpha Chamaeleonis was known to Humans as the most significant star visible from Earth in the Chamaeleon constellation, about sixty-three light-years distant. (ST reference: Star Charts)

The more proper genitive name of this star as recorded by real-life astronomers would be formed as "Alpha Chamaeleontis".
