Alpha Prime

Alpha Prime in 2258.

Alpha Prime XII was a previously inhabited planet, the twelfth planet in the Alpha Prime star system, located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.[1] (TOS novel: The Captain's Daughter)

History

During the 23rd century, Dr. Matthew Blumberg conducted an archaeological expedition to the planet and discovered artifacts that pointed to an ancient civilization having inhabited the planet at some time. In honor of his discovery of the artifacts on Alpha Prime XII and Minox IX, the race were named the Blumbergs. (TOS novel: The Captain's Daughter)

Alternate timeline

In the Kelvin timeline, the Starfleet's new Aegis-class cruiser USS Aegis began its shakedown trip at Alpha Prime. The captain was new to the crew and the ship's controls. The Aegis maneuvered away from Alpha Prime, past the moon towards the system's debris cloud. Following those maneuvers at impulse speed, the Aegis warped to Beta Prime. (TOS video game: Bridge Crew mission: "Prologue: Shakedown")
