History

In 218 BC, Carthaginian general Hannibal crossed the Alps with an army that included war elephants. (DS9 novel: Antimatter)

In the early 2250s, Leonard McCoy took a skiing vacation to the Alps while he was a medical student.

In 2267 the Guardian of Forever sent James T. Kirk, Spock and McCoy back to the Alps in 218 BC to capture Trengur before he interfered with Hannibal's march. (TOS comic: "No Time Like the Past")
