Amitra was a female Pandrilite politician of the mid-24th century. After serving as a cabinet member for the three previous presidents, including President T'Pragh, she was elected President of the Federation herself in 2364.
During her administration, she moved the office of the president to the smaller Ra-ghoratreii Room. She only wished to run for one term, and did not run again in 2368. In 2380, she and Thelianaresth th'Vorothishria of Andor were the only still-living former presidents following the death of President Jaresh-Inyo of Grazer (although the death of President Min Zife of Bolarus remained unknown to the general public). Amitra delivered a eulogy at Jaresh-Inyo's state funeral on Mars that year. (novel: Articles of the Federation).

According to Last Words in The Amazing Stories, the President in 2368 was a Tellarite female. Though Amitra is a Pandrilite and Jaresh-Inyo a Grazerite, this does not necessarily mean this Tellarite doesn't exist. The U.F.P. might, on occasion, assign 'interim' Presidents.
