Amna Patel

Security chief Amna Patel.

Amna Patel was a Federation citizen, a female Human in Starfleet service in the 23rd century. In the 2250s decade, she held the rank of lieutenant commander and served as security chief aboard the Cardenas-class starship USS Buran. She was engaged to first officer Ellen Landry. (STO - Age of Discovery mission: "The Plausibility of the Possible")

In 2256, the Buran led Operation Riposte, the Starfleet effort to retake Priors World from the Klingon Empire during Burnham's War. She and Captain Gabriel Lorca coordinated Starfleet forces engaging Klingons troops. (STO - Mirror of Discovery mission: "Operation Riposte")

Following the destruction of the Buran, Patel was initially one of the survivors when their Class C shuttlecraft, the USS Caravan, crashed in the arctic realm of Priors 5d. On the third day, she sacrificed herself to hold off the Klingons. Her death turned Landry vengeful, who then took Patel's position as security chief under Gabriel Lorca aboard USS Discovery. (STO - Age of Discovery mission: "The Impossibility of Reason")

Following the return of feared Klingon matriarch J'Ula in 2410, the Alpha Quadrant Alliance created historical simulations of the events surrounding Priors World. This made Patel well-known among 25th century Alliance officers. (STO - Age of Discovery mission: "The Impossibility of Reason", STO - Age of Discovery mission: "The Impossibility of Reason")

When the ISS Discovery appeared in the same year, the Alliance encountered Amna Patel serving as security chief on the mirror universe Crossfield-class science vessel. (STO - Mirror of Discovery mission: "Para Pacem")

After J'Ula opened a rift to mycelial space in the Andorian system, the Alliance away team cooperated with a jahSepp guide, who assumed her form based on memories of the historical Patel as "compassionate, idealistic. Someone who protects. Someone like the jahSepp." (STO - J'Ula's Discovery mission: "Beneath the Skin")
