The Andorian Mining Consortium, also AMC, is a chartered Federation mining operation. Originally a minor player in the developing of raw materials, they completed the research and development of the Atlas Project. (TOS video game: 25th Anniversary)
In late 2153, while assisting Jonathan Archer in capturing the Xindi superweapon, Hravishran th'Zoarhi posed to the Xindi as a scout of the AMC, searching for Archerite. (ENT episode: "Proving Ground")
By the 23rd century it had become Federation's third largest private corporation and had extensive mining operations on asteroids and M Class planets such as Castus.
Their practices were questioned by planetary ecologists who pressed for investigation. (TOS video game: 25th Anniversary)
Background
The AMC had been mentioned only as an obscure background element in the 1992 video game 25th Anniversary. Since it does not pose a role nor affect the game plot, it is not necessary for the player to know about AMC to finish or play the game.
It was not until ten years later when the AMC was semi-canonized in Star Trek: Enterprise, being mentioned in dialogue by Shran in what was perhaps a nod to the computer game. However since Shran was feigning his speech, it is not determinable that the AMC really existed in canon.
