Alternate surface and system details
The Andorian system (Andorii: Kuy'va system) is an inhabited star system in the Andor Sector, containing the moon Andoria, homeworld of the Andorians. (ENT episodes: "The Andorian Incident", "Kir'Shara"; DS9 episode: "Tears of the Prophets")
History[]
The system was attacked in 2154 by the Vulcan High Command. (ENT episode: "Kir'Shara")
The system was again attacked during the Earth-Romulan War in 2159, this time by Romulan forces. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
By the 24th century an array of subspace relay stations connected the system to Rigel. (TNG episode: "Conspiracy")
During the Dominion War the Andorian system was considered by Starfleet to be of comparable strategic importance to Berengaria, Vulcan, and Earth. (DS9 episode: "Tears of the Prophets")
All inhabited planets were heavily damaged in the Borg Invasion of 2381. (ST novels: Lost Souls, A Singular Destiny)
Location[]
The Andorian system was located in the Beta Quadrant, close to the Vulcan system. (ENT episode: "Kir'Shara"; ST reference: Star Charts)
System makeup[]
The Andorian system's primary star was referred to as Kuy'va in Andorii. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans)
The moon Andoria, homeworld of the Andorians, orbited a gas giant, Andor, located in this system. It was the only body in the system to have native life. (ENT episode: "Kir'Shara"; Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans)
Another planet, Alrond, had an Andorian colony. The settlement on Alrond was destroyed in the 2381 Borg invasion. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code; ST novels: Lost Souls, A Singular Destiny)
The system had an asteroid belt. In 2273, Anton Zauber and Joann Zauber traveled through it aboard the freighter Skorpius. (TOS comic: "The Real McCoy")

Non-canon sources give multiple descriptions of the Andorian system, some of which conflict with the canon appearances in ENT episodes: "Kir'Shara", "The Aenar".
Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans gives the system's makeup as follows:
- Kuy'va (Primary)
- Kastra (Andoria I)
- Kuy'Thela (Andoria II)
- Andron (Andoria III)
- Brok'va (Andoria IV)
- Andoria (Andoria V)
- Onlith (Andoria Va)
- Kul'va (Andoria VI)
- Kazaan (Andoria VII)
ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation lists the system as the "Andor system". There, Andoria is listed as being the eighth planet in a nine-planet system.
ST reference: Star Charts, which uses ENT as source material, erroneously designates Andoria as Procyon VIII, ignoring its being a moon (it would more correctly be designated Procyon VIIIa, or possibly by other letters if Andor has additional moons).
In ST video game: Fleet Command, system is set up like this:
- central star
- Phandrax
- Starbase 7
- Andor
- Andoria Prime
While Andor is depicted as a ringless earth-like planet and not a gas giant. There are no ringed planets in the game. The systems are usually incomplete and do not follow correct ordering.

Real-life location[]

Different sources have placed the Andorian system in multiple locations:
- Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans states that the Andorian system is about 274.4 light-years away from Earth. Given the events of "Kir'Shara", this location does not appear to correspond to the stated capabilities of Enterprise NX-01 or to Vulcan's semi-canonical location at 40 Eridani.
- TOS references: Star Fleet Technical Manual, Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual state that the Andorian system's primary is the real-life trinary star Epsilon Indi, located 11.8 light-years from Sol.
- ST references: Star Charts, Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library place the Andorian system at the real-life binary star Procyon, located 11.5 light-years from Sol.
