- Arc two of the acclaimed Star Trek: Defiant series starts here! Still reeling from the battle on Qo'noS, Worf and the Defiant crew have been ordered to return to Starfleet headquarters where they await learning the Federation's thoughts on their involvement in the fight against Kahless and the Red Path.

- Captain's log.
- In the face of Kahless and his Red Path, we stood defiant, and on this bridge, I am in command. I now seek to make that rank official with Starfleet... although I didn't think captain would have ever been a rank I achieved in my career. One might call it a confluence of various events that conspired against me. One might otherwise call it... self-doubt. The Klingon way warns every warrior of any gaining idea. But I will admit... I have long desired not just to sit in this chair but to earn it.
- We have been ordered to Earth. Starfleet Headquarters. I will make the case for captaincy of the Defiant there, with my crew beside me. Despite Captain Sisko's move of clemency for us, I am certain we will need to answer for some of our more... rogue actions. Ambassador Spock is accompanying us, presumably so that his legacy might smooth over any of the rougher edges of our recent narrative...
- Captain's log.
- Is this what my leadership has been reduced to? We now hunt the individualized Borg known as Hugh. We do so without protection, assistance, or even acknowledgment. Hugh is sought by the powerful because he has something other Borg do not. A Name.
- My name once brought with it hard-won honor. Does it still? For it is not a question of if this assignment is dishonorable. But how much so?
