An antibody is a protein molecule used by the immune system to identify foreign objects such as bacteria and viruses for neutralization.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2254, Doctor Phillip Boyce and Mister Spock developed an antibody to vaccinate the USS Enterprise from a Ngultor virus which had infected the ship's systems. (EV comic: "Flesh of My Flesh")

In 2370, Julian Bashir and Jadzia Dax used antibodies to cure a disease that had broken out on Bajor. (DS9 novel: Warchild)
