Antiproton beam array

A 25th century Khitomer Alliance antiproton beam array.

An antiproton beam array was a weapon technology, a directed energy weapons emitter installed on installed on starships and spaceborne-installations like starbases and other space stations. Such a beam array fired antiproton energy at a target, dealing an average amount of damage. As a beam array, it had a 250° firing arc. Compared to other energy weapon types, antiproton space weapons had a 20% chance of hitting a target with critical severity, thus increasing the damage caused by a critical hit. Antiproton beam arrays usually fired red beams. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

History and specifics[]

Vila at Dranuur

In the 25th century, both modern and 200.000 years old Iconian swarmer drones were equipped with antiproton beam arrays. The ancient, Solanae-built Obelisk 1 carrier carried antiproton weapons by default, including antiproton dual beam banks and antiproton beam arrays. These were found by members of the Federation, Romulan Republic and Klingon Empire in 2409. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Sphere of Influence")

In the 2400s, Voth antiproton beam arrays were standard weapons for Voth soldiers and starships. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Circles within Circles")

In the 2400s and 2410s, antiprotons fired red-colored beams and were available with different ratings of advancement, ranging from mark I to mark XV, plus unrated variants. These beam arrays could be modified by personnel to improve accuracy, critical severity, critical chance and damage output. Aboard starships, antiproton beam arrays could be slotted in fore and aft weapon emplacements. The variant dual beam bank could only be placed in a fore weapon slot, however. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

In 2411, antiproton beam arrays were standard weapons aboard the Khitomer Alliance's Allied Fleet Service starships such as the Khitomer-class battlecruiser AFS Khitomer. (STO - Klingon Civil War mission: "The Khitomer Discord")

In the 29th and 31st centuries, antiproton beams were the standard weapons for Starfleet, Klingon and Romulan starships, including their mirror universe counterparts. (STO - Agents of Yesterday missions: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", "The Hunt is On", "Explore the Flotilla")
