Anya was an allasomorph born centuries before the era of the Federation.

Biography[]

Anya's form.

Anya's humanoid form.

In the 24th century, Anya was tasked with protecting a fellow shapeshifter named Salia, serving as Salia's governess, legal guardian and bodyguard while the young shapeshifter was interned on planet Klavdia III awaiting return to Daled IV to be their future head of state. Salia's parents had been killed in war, and Anya took Salia to the neutral Klavdia III with Federation assistance, where she raised the young dauphin.

Anya possessed a ruthless and pragmatic outlook, believing it was justifiable to kill any individual causing problems rather than negotiate.

Anya originated on the third moon of Daled IV. She opted for the form of an elderly woman when in company of humanoids, but changed her appearance for other situations.

When it was time for Anya and Salia to return to their homeworld on Daled IV in the year 2365, the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise-D retrieved them. Anya, concerned with the safety of Salia, made several demands of the Enterprise crew. She attempted to restrict repairs being done by Lieutenant Geordi La Forge's engineering staff, as well as requesting that a crewman named Hennesey be killed due to having contracted a contagious disease. When the requests were not met, Anya became a raging monster needing to be restrained by security, intent on murdering the patient herself. While stopped and placed in a forcefield, she escaped and again transformed into a fierce creature to dissuade Wesley Crusher from pursuing Salia as a romantic interest.

When Anya and Salia disembarked, Anya chose to be returned to her moon. (TNG episode: "The Dauphin")

In the year 2380, Ensign Beckett Mariner had a conspiracy board that featured a photograph of one of Anya's forms, which she (incorrectly) referred to as a "dauphin". (LDs episode: "Cupid's Errant Arrow")
