Arak Katal was a Bajoran guise of an outcast Founder. Shortly after the Cardassian Union allied with the Dominion, when the Dominion began systemically eliminating the Maquis, the Founders chose not to target the family members of known Maquis members. The Changeling in the form of Katal informed the Cardassians of the location of Tevlik's moon. Survivors of the eradication, including Chakotay, had believed Arak had betrayed the Maquis to the Cardassians prior to learning he was actually a Changeling in 2378. (VOY novel: Spirit Walk)
