Arbuk was a binary stary system star located in the space of the galaxy's Delta Quadrant.
History and specifics[]
This binary system is composed of a red giant orbited by a white dwarf.
The system contains no planets, no asteroids, and little in the way of cosmic debris. Due to the gravitational pulls of both stars, coupled with their strong gravimetric fields, it virtually prohibits any orbiting bodies.
In 2359, the Arbuk system became a site of interest to the Sperians when its Tech Faction began a secret warp-acceleration project.
In 2371, the project was sabotaged by the Military Faction, causing the warp accelerator to destroy the space city orbiting it, resulting in the deaths of eight-five thousand Sperians. (VOY novel: Incident at Arbuk)
