According to Khan Noonien Singh, Argentina was the site of a secret genetic engineering laboratory in the 1970s, similar to the Bombay group school that enhanced Khan. In the 1980s the Augments used it as a training facility. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 2")
In September 1992 Augment Dictator Asahf Ferris annexed Argentina into the South American Union. By 1996, it was part of the Ferris Dominion. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
