By 2346 he himself had become kai, with an Obsidian Order agent, formerly under the guise as Oralian priest Pasir Letin, now posing as the late vedek Gar Osen, as his most trusted advisor. When vedek Opaka began advocating the abolition of the d'jarras he, under pressure from Gar, had her expelled.
He was killed by Gar in 2348 when he started to believe in Opaka's message and told Gar that he intended to formally support the abolition of the d'jarras. Had he been allowed to do so, the Bajoran people would have stood even more united against their Cardassian oppressors, the exact thing which the Obsidian Order agent had been trying to prevent by preaching continued adherence to the d'jarra system.
