Arizona is a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America on Earth. The state of Arizona is located in the southwestern corner of the United States, along the border with Mexico.

The state was noted for the rather beautiful sunrises over the Arizona desert, as well as natural features such as the Grand Canyon. (VOY episodes The 37's and Imperfection).

The Army of Eternal Vigilance (AEV), an antigovernment militia commanded by an Augment named Hawkeye Morrison in the 1990s, was based in Cochise County, Arizona. (novel: Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars, Book Two)

Also, during the 1990s a distant ancestor of Commander Chakotay was living in Arizona. When Chakotay and the crew of the USS Voyager were thrown back in time to 1996, Chakotay considered looking up this ancestor. (VOY episode Future's End)

The Federation starships USS Arizona were named for this region.

Real World

Star Trek author Kenneth E. Carper resides in Arizona.
