Arizona is a region of the North American continent on the planet Earth, with boundaries that were created as the area was settled as a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America nation. The state of Arizona is located in the southwestern corner of the United States, along the border with Mexico.
History[]
The state was noted for the rather beautiful sunrises over the Arizona desert, as well as natural features such as the Grand Canyon. (VOY episodes: "The 37's", "Imperfection")
The Army of Eternal Vigilance (AEV), an antigovernment militia in the 1990s commanded by an Augment named Randall "Hawkeye" Morrison, was based in Cochise County, Arizona. (ST novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 2)
Also during the 1990s, a distant ancestor of Commander Chakotay was living in Arizona. When Chakotay and the crew of the USS Voyager were thrown back in time to 1996, Chakotay considered looking up this ancestor. (VOY episode: "Future's End")
The Federation starships USS Arizona were named for this location.
