Arm-of-the-Hamstringer was a 23rd century Kzinti man who served the Kzinti Patriarchy as an engineer aboard the Kzinti warship prototype Giant Killer in the early 2270s decade.
Biography[]
As part of the Kzinti occupation of Mimit in the 2270s, and operating out of its Kzinti ground base, Arm-of-the-Hamstringer and his fellow crew were disavowed by the Kzinti government because their actions violated the Treaty of Sirius. However, they hoped to achieve a noble victory that would earn them names and land. Arm-of-the-Hamstringer was so named because he supervised operations of Hamstringer, a directed energy weapon able to disable a starship's artificial gravity generators. He also commanded a number of Bebebebeque slaves who tended to the device.
In the year 2274, while patrolling two days distant from Mimit, Giant Killer detected the approach of the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise. Fth-Captain felt he had no choice but to fire the weapon. Arm-of-the-Hamstringer assured him that the weapon was fully operational and that the slaves had done well. When fired by Gunner from the bridge, the weapon performed flawlessly, leaving Enterprise defenseless. (TOS comic: "The Wristwatch Plantation")
- It was unclear if Arm-of-the-Hamstringer survived the final battle with Enterprise over Mimit.
