Aronnia was an inhabited class M planet in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. Its atmospheric composition was 20% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, and trace gases. It had three major landmasses, mostly desert, with 23 cities totaling over one million Aronnians.

Aronnia was colonised 217 Aronnian years before 2254.
When a Federation scout team first discovered Aronnians they were able to demonstrate their ability for interstellar flight, the nature of which they considered classified information. Nevertheless they were were invited to join the Federation. They were admitted to the Federation a few years before 2254. (ST novel: Where Sea Meets Sky)
