Commander Art Chenowyth was a human male who served as Captain Garrovick's first officer aboard the USS Farragut in the mid-2250s.
In 2257 he took temporary command of the Farragut following its encounter with the dikironium cloud creature at Tycho IV. (TOS comic: "Debt of Honor") In the aftermath of the encounter, Chenowyth recorded a commendation for helmsman James T. Kirk in the official log. Chenowyth noted for the record that "Lieutenant Kirk is a fine young officer who performed with uncommon bravery." (TOS episode: "Obsession")

The first officer of the Farragut was not named in "Obsession". Debt of Honor named him Commander "Art Chenowyth", The Autobiography of James T. Kirk called him Commander "Coto", and The Captain's Oath named him Commander "Cheng".
