Artie's Gals Bessie & Verona was a popular comic book published during the 20th century on the planet Earth.

History and specifics[]

The periodical's stories centered around characters who attended a fictional 20th century high school in Brookdale on the planet Earth. Artie's "gals" Bessie and Verona often competed for his affections.

The comic's stories were well known to Shiboline M'Ress in the 2260s decade.

In the year 2269, after discovering he was the writer/artist in what appeared to be a comic book alternate reality, Captain Daniel Fontana brought Starfleet officers into the Artie's Gals comic for his amusement. Captain James T. Kirk, Commander Spock, M'Ress, and Nyota Uhura interacted with Artie, Bessie, Verona, and Big Ox. (TAS comic: "The Scheimer Barrier")

The book was based on Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica, which was published by Archie Comics over three volumes beginning in 1950.
