Aryl was a Argelian male who was a member of Starfleet in the 2370s. In early 2374, he held the rank of Ensign and served on the USS Centaur under Captain Charlie Reynolds.

More than three months into the Dominion War, Aryl was injured when three Jem'Hadar fighters attacked the Centaur. (DS9 novelization: "Call to Arms...")
