Assimilated plasma beam array

An assimilated plasma beam array in 2411.

The assimilated plasma beam array was a Borg weapon technology, a directed energy weapons emitter on installed on starships and spaceborne-installations like starbases and other space stations. Such a beam array fired plasma energy at a target, dealing an average amount of damage. As a beam array, it had a 250° firing arc. Compared to other energy weapon types, assimilated plasma space weapons had a chance of regenerating the ship's hull that fired the beam. Plasma beam banks usually fired cyan beams. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")

History and specifics[]

Liberated Borg command juggernaut

The Borg Cooperative Type 03 juggernaut.

Assimilator class aft

A Borg Collective Assimilator.

In the 25th century, plasma weapons were the standard energy weapon types aboard vessels of the Borg Collective. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Khitomer Vortex")

Plasma weapons, like those of the Romulans, fired cyan-colored beams with rough edges and were available with different ratings of advancement, ranging from mark I to mark XV, plus unrated variants. These beam arrays could be modified by personnel to improve accuracy, critical severity, critical chance and damage output. Aboard starships, plasma beam arrays could be slotted in fore and aft emplacements. The variant assimilated plasma dual beam bank could only be placed in either fore slot, however. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")

In the 2410s decade, assimilated plasma beam arrays were used aboard the liberated Borg command juggernaut operated by the Borg Cooperative. The Cooperative shared this tier 6 variant of the Borg type 03 vessel with the Khitomer Alliance in the year 2411, including its weapons technology. (STO website: Legacy: Command the Borg Juggernaut!)

Later in 2411, the Khitomer Alliance acquired the Borg Collective's Assimilator-class dreadnought carriers, which had also been fitted with assimilated plasma beam arrays. (STO website: Unparalleled: Assimilate. It. All.)
